The apartments are dumps. The heat is turned on late and turned off early. There are plenty of cold nights in May when you want a little heat to take out the chill and dampness. You better buy a space heater if you plan on living here. Also, they put notices on our doors this past winter that the heat doesn't kick on unless the outside temperature is below 55. Well, the stupid -------s have the outside thermostat in the boiler room! So it has to go to at least 40 outside before the heat kicks on as the boiler room has the hot water tanks and is always warmer than the outside. Expect frequent heat problems during the winter.

They just knock and walk. I was in the shower when they just knocked and walked into my home. They did give me a day that they would be in but they did not state AM or PM. Maintenance is stupid and will not believe you about anything. They also make messes and one stutters so bad he should not be dealing with people as you cannot understand him. Not making fun of people who stutter but come on, if you cannot communicate with people then you should be mowing the grass or something else. The washer and dryers are expensive. They are $1.50 each! That's right. A buck and a half to wash a load of clothes and a buck and a half to dry a load of clothes.

Dogs run without being on leashes and there is dog ---- everywhere as almost no dog owners pick up the ----. Dogs are left alone all day or all night and bark and howl because they are basically locked into a vault. Try sleeping when your neighbor's dog is barking and howling all night. They charge a pet security deposit of $250.00 and a monthly pet fee which I think is $30 or $35.00 a month and they should be using these monthly fees to pay a professional pooper scooper service to come in daily to pick up. There are professional dog ---- picker uppers in the yellow pages.

The electric goes off often at least 4-5 times a month. It can be for a couple of minutes or an hour. You loose your work online. Also, the static in the lines is really bad and affects your connetion quality. The parking is free but expect a few to think that they own a spot and get your car keyed. There is enough parking and it is not assigned but you will have a few that will tell you not to park in their spot. They give notices by just rolling the paper into a tube and wedging it between your doorknob and the door frame. So when you open your door from inside the notice just blows away so much for proper notification.

There is frequent flooding from hot water heat pipes breaking as the place is so old and was never properly maintained. The water is very hard and you will have a constant white build up. I was told that they used to soften the water but then stopped due to the expense. You must clean every time you shower as the white lime and calcium build up very very fast and it's a ----- to get cleaned.

There are many, and I mean many people living here that are having their rent paid by the government, it is called hud and section 8 housing. Some of these people are really nice but most are dirty, stinky, rude and just live like trash - how does this affect you' Well, if they live beside, above or below you they will probably be home 24 hours a day as they don't work or go to school and eat, sleep, party, vacuum, shower and everything else whenever they feel like it as they have no schedule. My welfare neighbor who was always home just had to vacuum at 3 AM when I was sleeping because I had to get up to go to class while she had nothing to do. There are some real mental cases also that are obvious cases. They dress like homeless people and have nothing else better to do than nose around 24 hours and act like they are better than you because they have been there for years.

The office ------- are just that--------. Sweet to your face and then lie to you about getting repairs done. And forget about your security deposit as I left my place spotless and they took out for this and that and the other. I understood the carpet cleaning fee but they charged me for stains on the tile in the bathroom that were there when I moved in and also on my move in checklist of damage already present. You can either pay a company to come in and clean your carpeting after move out or they will do it and deduct from security and they are cheaper than Stanley or anyone so I just paid them. The place is dying a slow death and they know it very well. You can do better than this place.

Man. This guy is very ignorant. You can tell you're yuppy material that has nothing better to do than write an essay bashing an apartment complex. I say, if you can't deal with dogs or their "matter" than you shouln't have moved here, also, watch where the hell you step. ALSO, HUD bashing is soo immoral, you'll go to hell. you're just pissed because you make too much or don't have kids to get on it. AND, if you're a student, live the hell on campus. As for the maintenance and interior problems, what did you expect Paris? 5star apartments? It's the cheapest rent in town!! Of course it's not going to be the best. If you can't handle the issues you wrote about, then I insist you live downtown. Because you're not going to find a cheaper place with less problems. Oh, and for the internet problem, get wireless if you're such a yuppie.
