i moved here from out of state. i had not seen the apartment, just discussed it with management (and a peer recommended it). sight unseen i sent them $520 for a security deposit.

the day i moved in, there was a bad cockroach infestation, that subsequently took 2 1/2 months to fix, although i was promised it would be fixed within 4 days (during which i had to stay in a hotel). i had to call every other week to get the exterminators out here to solve the problem.

the ladies in the office have been very cooperative with me, and i have no complaints about them.

the walls are VERY thin - i can hear everything. some of the neighbors are not the most upstanding citizens. they offer section 8 housing here, so you will hear the yelling and screaming of those next door who seem as though they are recovering drug addicts.

the buildings are not separted by smoking and non, so your neighbors that smoke outside - well if you want your windows open you get a nice whiff. i am not sure if they allow smoking inside.

parking is never a problem, for you or guests.

i look forward to the day that i get to move out. g-hKOS7s4Nq5n3hEIpHd

first of all I have been renting in State College for the past 5 years and the number one rule is never send money site unseen. That is a cardinal rule anywhere you rent from. Hopefully you have learned from your mistake. It may seem like a hassle to go and see the apartment, especially if you live out of town, but it doesn't hurt to insist on seeing the apartment that you will get. They cannot say no. And if the apartment is not up to your standards let them know and as long as it's resonable they will probably do it. Hope this helps
