I lived here for nearly 3 years. I think I can say something about its one bedroom apartments. Sorry for my poor english. I just want my try-to-be-unbiased comments would be helpful to future tenants.

========THE GOOD=====:
The neighborhood is very quiet and beautiful.
There's a large park near Park Forrest Apartments.
Very nice and easy-going office management.
Responsive maintenance services.
The heating is good in winter.
The heat fee is included in the rent.
Pet is welcome. $20-30/mo
It's very safe.
I heard the office change new carpet for new tanants.
Convinient. Walmart, Giant, Weis... within 5 minutes driving distance.
The 1-bdrm is campact.Brought my family a cozy atmosphere.

======THE BAD=========:
Unreasonable security deposit deduction.
The area of 1-bdrm is 495 square feet for around $550 monthly. Far from spacious.
There's a walk-in closet in the bedroom with shabby and falling doors.
The laundry room is very dirty. It smelled terrible someday--finally I found there's stools on the ground:(
For the 1-bdrm apartment, the wall is too thin. Noise is easy to penetrate the wall. I am living in the 2nd floor, I can even hear neighboring people talking(in a normal tone)in the quiet night.
For the 1-bdrm apartment, ventilation is not good. For example, the air conditioner locates in the bdrm, the cold air can't get into the living room because of its structure-design.
Some neighbor are very rude, --play noisy music, drinking, hanging around all the day. But it's a big problem everywhere in State College, not only in the Park Forrest Apartments.
The bus routine is not convenient. Only a N bus. (one bus every 30 minutes). The good news is that they're usually on time.
No fitness center in the neighborhood.
The wood buildings are too old. The wooden floor is thin and you'll make noise when walking.
The air conditioner is too old-fashioned, and, suuuuuuper noisy.
In springs, the birds build their homes under the roof. Sometimes noisy.

=====MY SUGGESTIONS=====
The best 1 bedroom is the corner room. Because you only subject to noise from 1 side.
Due to the poor ventilation, It's better to buy a window fan yourself.
Basic cable and internet service is just OK here. You can get a bundled service promotion from Comcast. High-Speed Internet Digital Cable including HBO, $60 plus monthly.
For 1-bdrm, The 2nd floor is better than the 1st floor, since the floor is made of wood and could be noisy when the upper household is walking.
Avoid noisy neighbors. If you happened to have a noisy neighbor, it'll be a nightmare. It is better to ask the office for help before choosing an apartment. (Usually the office keeps the records of complaining)
The 2-bdrm is only about $150 more than 1-bdrm, much more spacious. So, if you can afford a 2-bdrm, go ahead for it.

=====pictures====

1, Kitchen in 1-bdrm unit. The kitchen is small and relatively long. If you love cooking, I don't recommend this apartment. From the following picture you can also see how old the air conditioner is. There are only two windows in the 1-bdrm unit-- one in the bedroom, another in the living room. It is the poor structure makes poor ventilation.

2, The living room. (2nd floor). I like the window, it's big. But the floor is made of wood and is quite thin. If you live in the 2nd floor with children, the neighbor lives under you might complain repeatedly because of the noise.
