Wasn't Bad At First, But...

For the first few months that we lived there, everything was fine. The apartment was roomy and all utilities were included in the rent. However we grew more and more disastisfied with living there as the end of our lease approached.
The bus was always breaking down or not on time, and the internet didn't always work. The had to keep fixing it and we went without the internet sometimes for up to a week at a time. There are fines for things like having a keg, and if anyone ever catches you with a pet (your own or not) in your apartment, you get a ridiculous fine of $2500. You have to pay for parking, as well as guest parking. Walk's towing is right across the street, so they always come to Parkway Plaza to tow illegal parkers. They made us move all our stuff in order to paint the apartment, to save time before the next tenants move in (and made us pay for it).
We had a major heat wave this past summer. Parkway Plaza did not have the air conditioning ready, saying that repairs still had to be made. Two months pass by and still nothing. All this while the HEAT was still on! To give you an idea of how hot it was, everything in our kitchen cabinet went bad, literally melted. Keep in mind that there is senior housing on the 2nd floor of the main building, and a significant amount of senior citizens living in the regular apartments, you can imagine how unsafe this was. It wasn't until the state inspectors (i was aquainted with one of them) demanded, did they finally provide fans for just their senior housing floor. The rest of us didn't get AC until the last week of July. We moved out the first week of August and we couldn't have been happier.

1. Kegs are clearly not allowed. Read your lease.
2. Pets are clearly not allowed. Again, had you have read your lease, there wouldn't be a problem.
3. Illegally parked? It's ILLEGAL. And that applies to just about everywhere. Walks just happens to be across the street: they tow everyone, not just Parkway Plaza.
4. Perhaps if certain individuals didn't have 5 computers in an unit, the internet would be faster. I hate to say it, but not everything in life is perfect.
5. The air conditioning system needed to be replaced. And the senior citizens were taken care of far in advance with not just fans, but individual A/Cs. If an entire unit needs to be replaced, then of course there would be an unfortunate lapse of time with no cooling. It happens. Get over it.
And lastly, 6. You pay to park downtown at a meter. You pay to park on campus for 85 dollars a month. You pay for a sandwich at Subways or a drink at Starbucks. So explain to me, why it's so absurd to pay for parking at an apartment.

Wow ! After the management's response you get the picture, I guess. Stay away from this place ! There are much better deals out there.

Management is basically telling to you stay away from this place. $2500 if they find a pet in your place lol. Rediculous!
The reason the internet is slow is not because people have lots of computers in one unit. Parkway is too cheap to pay for high speed internet. Instead, they pay for the cheapest and lowest speed possible and then they split that line among all tenants. And yet they still advertise high speed internet. It'd be true if we are still living back in 1997.
