Parkway Plaza is the WORST place you could possibly live in State College. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is not worth the money that they charge at all. They charge every tenant an extra 125 dollar activity fee for using a pool that is never open and disgusting and a tiny fitness room that they do not keep up and has a bunch of old broken machines in it. They charge an extra 50 dollars a person per month if you have an extra person in a one bedroom and an extra 40 dollars a month for parking. All of this extra money is definitely not worth it when you could live somewhere else in State College that is a lot nicer and around the same price.

When is comes to parking, the parking lot is horrible. There are not enough spaces for everyone and they never clean the snow in the winter. There was about an inch of ice around the whole parking lot during all of the winter months. My car was actually hit in the parking lot and of course, Parkway Plaza doesn't have any security cameras so I had no idea how it happened and the person made up some ridiculous story that even the cop didn't believe. There are hardly any lights so at night it is pitch dark and I did not feel safe at all walking around or even just to my car.

The noise problem is horrible here. The buildings are so old and the walls are paper thin. You can hear absolutely everything your neighbor is doing. No one seems to have any respect nowadays for anyone else and every single neighbor I had would play extremely loud music in the middle of the night or play shooting games to make me feel like I was on a battlefield. Doors would be slamming at all hours of the night and if you live right next to the stairs, you have the pleasure of hearing everyone stomping their feet on the steps and slamming the door right on your wall. If you ask the office or complain about someone playing music too loud in the middle of the night, they do not do anything.

The appearance of the place made me embarrassed to even bring my family to see my place. There was garbage and beer bottles all over the ground outside that maintenance never cleaned. The whole place smelled horrible. The stairwells were disgusting and people would draw all over the walls in my hallway. The one day there were even cigarette butts dumped all over the lobby of my building and no one cleaned it up all day. The elevators are really old and slow and always smelled. People would pee in them and it was terrible.

The staff is one of the worst parts of this place. I cannot even tell you how many times I was lied to by every single one of the leasing agents including the property manager. These people are the rudest people I have ever met and do not care about their tenants at all. All I have to say is make sure you stand up for yourself if you live here and do not take their -------- because all of what they tell you is probably not true. They are crooks and try to take as much of your security deposit as possible. They charged me 180 dollars for "medium cleaning," which means nothing to me, and will not tell me what exactly they cleaned. They also charged me 175 dollars to paint a scuff mark on the wall which is ridiculous to me. I wish I would have known all of these things before I signed the lease because I would have never lived there if I did.

Just know, this place is disgusting, smelly, dirty, unsafe, noisy, and the staff cheats you out of your security deposit and is very rude. For the amount of money they charge, it is definitely not worth it. There are other places in town like Toftrees that charge about the same amount and are much better.
