The first year, I had no problem because I never needed to talk to the staff.
If you call the office, don't expect to talk to a person. If you leave a message on the machine, don't expect them to call you back. If you actually talk to someone, don't expect them to be professionals or fair.
They actually let my roommate leave in the middle of the lease (so he could move in to one of their more expensive apartments), and stuck me with half of the utilites ($100 Extra/Monthtly). Since the lease was joint, I had no legal discourse.
The places are crap, but you get what you pay for.
Bottom Line: Don't trust the staff. If you rent from them make sure it is on YOUR terms ... no joint lease. If you need something from them (hot water), don't expect them to to help you. Enjoy college, don't live here.
