I will admit that Southgate, like many apartment complexes that I have lived at, have their share of issues. However, I feel that they have done what they can with what they've got.

From my understanding, they only have 2 maintenance workers working on the complex since May. So I can only imagine what they are dealing with after all the students moved back in. Also they have one leasing agent who has been there for a couple of years I think, and she pretty much knows the ropes and tries to make people happy. and they have a new property manager who from what I have seen, does not know what she is doing at all.

I have seen her and some tenants in confrontations while she was out on the patio, which I feel is highly inappropriate you should take that inside. She has lied to me and other tenants about new appliances as well. I had gone up to her in August to see what can be done about a stove and a refridgerator. She said they would be replaced within a couple of weeks. Well now it is October and still have not received them.

My suggestion is if you have any issues, wheather it's maintenance related or not, you should go to the office and speak directly to the girl out front. At least she's honest with you and will not give you a load of b.s. which some people namely the property manager will do.

I have lived here for a couple of years now and have been able to compare the old property manager to the new one and I feel that they have not improved in that aspect one bit. I actually think the old property manager was better then this new one.

I agree with this post, however the office manager in this post is no longer employed here and now the extremely helpful front office "girl" is the new Property Manager. She has always been honest with us and responded to our requests, she definitely knows what she is doing.
