My roommate and I have lived here in Southgate for one year and are in the process of moving out. We currently are scrubbing the walls of anything that may have shown our presence here because we are terrified we won't get our security deposit back. It's always on the back of our minds of how we can sue them if it comes down to it.

The apartment is spacious and we haven't had any real problems except for...
The birds that have fallen from inside the roof into our walls (twice) then having to have maintanance come both times and cut holes in our walls to get them out.
The monsters that run across the ceilings; fighting and screaching their way through morning's and nights.
The neighbors...the neighbors; one is terrifying, we are pretty sure he has a mental disorder as he yells at himself, the smells from the hallways from cooking that seap in through the door cracks, our nextdoor neighbor who may not have had an actual conversation with a human being in 20 odd years and...the worst of it...those miandering trolls that creap around the apartments, insulting under their breaths, waiting to catch you in a corner alone so they can...who knows, we are lucky to not yet have found out (but have come close in many occassions).
The parking lot situation - had three friends towed within five minutes of them coming over/dropping off groceries.

Oh, and if you come from a ghetto/inner city, this is your home away from home! We've had a total of three gun shooting situations. One we actually had to call 911, and another - one of the crazed people that live here, with a shot gun ready to blow away at anything.

The seasons are pleasant if you can take the extreme cold, since your heat probably won't work until december (if you're lucky).
The fire detectors, probably from the dollar store, are, if you're lucky, an early morning wake up call - if one starts, they alllll start. Not to mention you have tp change their batteries every three weeks if you want to be aware that the building is on fire, or if the carbon monoxide from your leaky gas stove ends up putting you in a perminant sleep during the night.

We are not quite done dealing with Continental Real Estate; we'll see how the whole security deposit thing goes. Best of luck! We'll let you know how it ends...
