Not the "student resort" they'd have you believe.

I lived at The Pointe for two years, and I can't remember all of the reasons I was dissatisfied because there were so many. The only reason I stayed a second year was because it was far easier than finding a new place and moving all my things. I guess the worst part about this complex is the uncaring office staff. When you first come in to take a tour, they are EXTREMELY nice and go on and on about how many "amenities" are included in your rent. I was so impressed when I first saw the property, but that rapidly changed as soon as I moved in. The office staff was unresponsive and sometimes downright rude...the "high speed internet connection" worked sporadically...the "soundproofed movie theatre" and tanning bed were literally broken nearly the entire time I lived there...the hottub was often bordering on unsanitary (i'm not thinking the water is supposed to be yellow or green, but that may just be me)...and there were often not enough parking spaces to accomodate all of their residents, and you can completely forget about having available visitor parking for any guests. This is just a sampling of my gripes, but the worst part about it is if you bring these things to the attention of the management they do not even pretend to be concerned. I am not spoiled by any means, and do not expect perfection...however, I had many choices of places to live in State College, and I chose The Pointe because I was promised these services as part of my monthly rent. I work hard for my money, and feel that I could have gotten the same level of service and quality for MUCH less money.
