Couldn't possibly be any worse

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
I lived at this community for one semester and I don't think I could have put up with it any longer. On move-in day, we were missing pieces of "included" furniture and my closet was falling apart. I signed the lease after being told that the office staff was responsible for helping me find someone to sublet when I knew I would not be able to occupy the apartment. This was a joke as they never contacted anyone, and when I went back to them about this, they responded that they never told me that it was partially their responsibility.
I also signed up for a covered parking space, and planned on canceling it when I moved out, but the office staff informed me upon move-out that I would need to continue paying for the spot even though I no longer lived in the apartment. Why they couldn't have leased it to someone else is beyond me...especially considering there isn't nearly enough parking for all residents, let alone visitors. One time, a friend of mine parked in my assigned space with my permission since all the visitor parking spaces were full(as usual), and her car got towed. We had to pay $80 to get it back, and the office staff had no response when asked where she could have parked.
When I was no longer living in the apartment but still responsible for the lease, my carport(along with many others) physically fell down so the space was not usable and I was not informed by the office. I had to find out through a friend who still lived there. After contacting the office about this they refunded my money for that month's carport rent. In the meantime, nobody informed me of the status of my carport, so I included notes with my rent stating that I was not paying for the carport because as far as I knew it had not been repaired, and that if I was wrong they should contact me at the new address provided. Assuming they took the time to read these notes, I showed up for graduation weekend only to find a note on my door telling me that I owed my carport payments for the last 3 months and I would incur a $50 late fee if I did not pay them by noon the next day.
The list of complaints I have about this place goes on and on. My best advice is avoid this place at all costs. They are money-hungry and this is obvious in every aspect of their business.
