Walls Too Thin

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I've lived at The Pointe for 2 years now and resigned my lease, so I'm here for one more year. It is true that you can hear everything the neighbors do and they hear everything you do. My 1st year was great... Never knew the neighbors were there and when they had a party they gave us a few day notice and invited us.
This year has been a nightmare. The neighbors (different from last year) have parties all teh time even durring the week and it sounds like they are constantly dropping their pet elephant on the floor.
The 3 of us mentioned this to the upstairs neighbors and they laughed. So, my next recourse was to call the police. The police came about 5 times and did nothing. I was told what do you expect this is an appartment.
I awaken everyday to the guy downstairs singing "The Bodyguard" soundtract and am awakened at night several times to the aformentioned elephant being dropped. It helps to leave teh bathroom fan on to have white noise to block out some of the aggrivation from teh neighbors.
I have had a great deal of success dealing with teh maintainance crew. THere have been several serious problems with the A/C, the toilet, and with the shower dripping... Ian was there within a day to fix everything.
The only maintainance problem has been the lighting outside of the appartment. We have complained about this no less than 4 times and it still has not been fixed. This is an administrative problem and not with the maintainace crew. It is hard to fit teh key card in the slot without lighting and I worry about my femal roommate at night.
I finally rented a carport spot due to having to park at Wal Mart several times.
