Horrible Complex

I am so glad I am moving out of here...the worst decision I have ever made was visiting someone's apt here, noting how "nice" it looked...and immediately signing my lease for this past year. Let's go over a few of the horrible atrocities this complex commits:
1. Internet. They have outsourced their internet for the complex to a company called Pavlov Media. What, never heard of it? There is a good reason...it's the trashiest, worst internet service provider man has created. The internet is going down constantly...which I wouldn't mind as much if I didn't have a bunch of work to do! It's also REALLY slow....in fact, at the beginning of the year, a technician for them actually told me that they were throttling the Pointe's internet connection because the Pointe isn't paying enough for the bandwidth they are using! (It was bad enough that the 768K that we were "supposed to be getting" was more like 56-100K) How absolutely ridiculous! Oh, and when you attempt to call tech support, you're sent out to Malaysia or some crap where they have ONE PERSON dedicated to technical support for the ENTIRE COMPANY. Ugh!
2. Noise. Everywhere. I swear the walls and floors of this complex is made out of cardboard. Don't even think about getting a good night's sleep until at least 3 AM on a friday or saturday night....assuming of course that your neighbors or roommates aren't doing it until the sun rises.
3. Gas. The gas hookups for this complex are really old and leak. If you are expecting a low gas bill in the summer...don't. You will end up paying about $60 (again, in the summer...in the winter, a bill under $100 is almost impossible).
4. Parking. First, if you have visitors coming on a weekend...tell them to come as early as possible, or else they're not getting a spot. For yourself, try as best as you can to get a reserved parking space. Otherwise, if you even think about coming home at 10 or 11 PM, you'll end up having to park 3 Miles from your building.
5. Socialization/Downtown. Now, if you are a junior...it isn't too bad...but if you are a senior, you better live downtown! If you go to the bar on a friday or saturday night, you better make sure to catch that 212 AM bus or else you are going to be sleeping on the streets or in someone's apt.....you WILL NOT be able to catch a cab unless it's a weekday (which, btw, the bus stops running at 1236!). So, while your friends keep hanging out and partying until 3 or so, you are left with the last free trip back home at 212 (1236 on weekdays).......it is annoying, and CATA doesn't give a crap about you.
6. Move In/Out Procedures. I've never seen a more -------- complex when it comes to this than the Pointe. It's as if their managing company had a directive telling their staff to be as annoying as possible. First, during move in...our carpet was not clean, the bathrooms were in terrible shape (I had something black colored growing in my toilet, in the bathtub, AND ON THE WALLS!), a shelf in the refrigerator was in two pieces, the microwave looked like it had just barely survived a volcanic explosion, and the washing machine smelled like it had just been filled with sewer water. And...after this mess of an apartment upon move in... THEY HAVE THE NERVE to say "you won't be able to check out without a receipt for a carpet cleaning, or else you will be charged for a carpet cleaning plus a fee." Seriously? After the crappy shape our apartment was in upon move in, now you are forcing us to clean up after you? No...no no no, this is definitely not right at all. I will definitely say that our roommates and I will be looking to take legal action against them if they push this issue any further.
7. Loud Parties in the gym. Every so often (one happened during artsfest weekend)...a large, shall I just say "interesting" group of people decided to hold a party at the pool, in the gym, and in the clubhouse of the complex. Are you a resident of the complex, but not friends of theirs? Don't worry....you aren't allowed to even sniff this area. Not only do they blare loud...ghetto music...from the pool so that the entire complex, Nittany Crossing, and Lion's Crossing can hear it, but they decide to bring their large dogs and go swimming with them! Oh, and what do the complex managers and staff do about this situation? Nothing. Their official policy is that you aren't even allowed to have that large of a gathering on the premises...much less refuse ACTUAL RESIDENTS entry into the area...even just to check their mail. Sad, isn't it?
8. During the middle of the spring semester, the Pointe decided that they were going to replace all of the carpet/flooring and furniture in the common areas of every apartment. So, what does their notice say? "You MUST remove all of your belongings from the common area, or risk damage to your belongings." How lovely...nevermind the fact that THEY are the ones who are inconveniencing US with this nonsense...how difficult is it to replace all of this stuff during summer when most apartments are empty or during turn like most other complexes? It actually isn't, but lo and behold the great management of the Pointe decided to buck the trend and annoy their residents as much as possible with it. Not to mention, there was sawdust all over EVERYONE'S things after they got done...its as if they came in with a bag of the stuff, and tossed it over everything.
9. Rent/Advertisement. Now this one doesn't bother me as much..simply because it doesn't affect me since I'm getting out of that hellhole...but it still gets at me. At the beginning of the year, during the leasing period for the upcoming year, the Pointe was advertising how AWESOME their apartment complex was going to be for the upcoming year. Leather furniture, hardwood floors in common areas, new carpet in bedrooms, and new, vibrant colors on the walls. Okay, so after seeing the results of this advertisement, what new residents are actually going to get are: vinyl/pleather furniture, laminated flooring made to look like wood in the kitchen and entrance area, new carpet in the living room, old carpet in the bedrooms (good luck to you guys...hope there aren't too many stains/weird black crap!), a new, vibrant off white color that is a shade lighter than the previous color on the wall, and a rent that is $60 higher than the current one. It's almost as if one could sue the Pointe for false advertisement, eh? But no matter, their overpriced $420 rent for a crappy place out by Wal-Mart should definitely NOT be worth it (btw, I'm paying $365 now...great increase to pay for that pleather, eh?)
I think I'm done now...it's a long list, but there are so many things wrong with the Pointe and the way it runs, it isn't even funny. Allen & O'Hara (the management company) should definitely NOT be in the business of running apt complexes...and the staff of the Pointe actually agrees with this (a few have told me). One could hope they go bankrupt, but it is doubtful that would happen. If they were in the business of running pet stores, odds are all the pets would die within a week.
So, in other words, if you want to live out by wal-mart, you are better off at Toftrees, Nittany or Lion's Crossing, Parkcrest Terrace, State College Park, or somewhere off of Aaron Dr or in Park Forest. Do not, under any circumstances, live at the Pointe. You will regret it.

no idea where you are now but most apts have these problems you claimed unless you have lots of money and rent a separate townhouse.
