We had about 2 weeks to find a renter for our home in Delaware and move to PA to accommodate my husband's employer. I spent days apartment searching and checking reviews for every place I considered. The Fairways, was by far, the best. You must remember that when you rent, you are paying for the use of property that belongs to somebody else. You won't have everything on your wish list fulfilled... it's just not going to happen.
That being said, the Fairways is not cheap. However, when I compared prices for communities in the area that could compare, their price is reasonable, fair and on a par with the market for the area. Actually, their apartments are larger than those offered by other communities with equal amenities for nearly the same lease price. The staff is friendly, professional and on top of everything. Out of necessity, I did much of the rental process over the phone and via email. Stephanie, the rental agent, was fabulous... extremely helpful and quick with follow-up. She made my incredibly stressful and lengthy "To Do" list a little easier.
The apartment is remarkably clean, pest free and meticulously maintained with new or like new appliances. The rooms are large (much larger than average for the price) and roomy (the kitchen is much smaller than what I am used to and prefer but I can live with it), it is sealed well and without drafts. We rented a single story 3-bedroom. There are wonderful amounts of closet space. Both bathrooms are small but very nicely done and appear to be brand new. The community is very nicely maintained. Parking near our entrance is limited and appears to be "first come first served" but there is alternate parking within a reasonable distance. I guess the only real gripe I have (and it's a small one) is that there are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms. When you shower, the room turns into a thickly fogged sauna. But we can live with it.
All in all, a very nice location, pleasant grounds, well cared for apartments, helpful and knowledgeable office staff. We are very pleased and feel quite lucky to have found this apartment.
