Ok.. first i will start off by saying that i have lived at Barclay for 2 years..At first i thought oh this is not as bad as everyone said on that apartment rating website.. boy was i wrong...
Everyday its something new. For the price it is reasonable but they put you through hell. I have not had a serious problem with rodents or roaches. But i have heard neighbors complain about it. I had a mouse once. the hallways stink all the time.. Just found out im pregnant and i puke everytime i get outside after smelling the hallways..
I also had a neighbor who had about 5 kids in a one bedroom apt. The office kept telling me that there were no kids listed on the lease and would not check into it. These kids were constantly in the hallway playing ball and screaming all hours of the night.
Also, i live on the balcony side, and you have to listen to every Tom, ----, and Harry come honking for their booty call at all hours of the night and at 6am saturday morning.. If the girl doesnt answer, then they just go banging on the balcony doors.. So loud that my balcony doors would shake....
My hell started with crazy neighbors on all sides of me.. My neighbors upstairs have sex at all hours of the night..No exaggeration.
The neighbors under me and next to me decide to have rap parties at all hours of the night. No exaggeration.. My one neighbor puts his stereo on about 11:30pm when i am layig in bed.Usually i have to call the cops because i need to get some sleep. I have called several times.

My newest problem seems to be with the main office. I gave my certified letter saying that i planned on moving out when my lease was up in 3/07. Yeah right.. They got the letter 4 (FOUR) days after it was due and told me that i was rolled into another year.. When i told them i refused, they sent me a letter stating that i was responsible for four months on top of the rent i was already paying. I laughed at her. She then talked to my fiancee and told him that would only take two plus our security deposit. Like it was a deal since they could sue us for 12 months if we left.
I'm telling you right now, if you value your sanity and ability to sleep... Dont come to Barclay because u will have neither..

This place is the dumps. I am glad you are moving out. I hope you new living arrangement works out better for you and the new addition! :)

I lived in Barclay Square for 2 years and when i wanted to move out they did the same exact thing. They received my certified letter 2 days after the date they should have, but I mailed it 2 weeks prior.

Oh my god... That is soo funny.. I lived there for 2 years and planned to move out when i found out i was pregnant.. I didn't want my baby in that S**thole. Of course they got my letter stating that i was moving late and told me that in order to break the lease, i would have to pay 4 months just to move.. I stayed for the remaining year and we spent the first 5 months of my sons life there. The only reason was i really didn't have any rodent problem while i was there. I was pregnant and would also get sick everytime i walked into that hallway. It is absolutely disgusting. They never clean. I wish that they would just shampoo the rugs every once in a while. I am finally out. Now i am waiting for my security check which should be interesting. I don't even want to think about how they are going to find a way to screw me with this one for the last time. At least i have a lawyer now and will fight them tooth and nail. Now, i just found out that the main woman manager is gone. She was the most unprofessional of all.
