More shootings in the neighborhood now, about 3 per week. Even the police don't bother coming around anymore. Seems that they've givin it up as a lost cause. Drug traffiking has found safe haven in the Gardens. Thinking about organizing an armed vigilante squad to clean out the trash. God knows we have the weapons. If any law enforcement agencies read these reviews, then I suggest you act before we do.

Yes. I Agree with all you said. I am a college student and needed cheap housing because of my low income and many bills. Little did I know it would be this bad. Crappy neighbors and gunshots. I should've stayed in a dorm or roomed with like 6 people! anything would've been better than this place! Seeing as though conditions are so bad here. No heat or hot water for 2 1/2 days on the coldest weekend of the year and gigantic ugly bugs. Ugghh! I'm not even 6 months into my lease and I am already desperately planning to move soon as spring semester is over. Deduct your rent and let them argue with you. I'm sure you had your stove or little space heater going. They raise your gas and electric bill, and heat is supposed to be included with your rent. What they are doing is unlawful. Make slumlords pay it!

I can't take living here anymore. I see those extra large roaches with the wings several times a day now. I called and complained. so called extermination does nothing. All they do is run to my neighbors apartment then come back. All winter the heat and hot water was busted. I have toxic mold growing by my balcony. The wood around it rots more and more everyday. trash flying in the wind. retarded neigbors who blast music at home and in the alley all hours of the day & night. The most horrible management team I have ever seen, and these apartment are in serious need of an upgrade. Walls are cement and they are cracking from floor to ceiling. Carpet is cheap, it lookes flat & old after only 1 month. No amount of vacumming makes it look nice again. nasty scratched up kitchen floors. walls with bad spackle jobs. I should have been more choosey about my apartment. I too was fooled by the sample. They did not even want me to see my apartment until after i signed the lease, but i managed to see it before, and demanded serious changes. They replaced my 1950's fridge two months & a fight later. My meat never froze in the freezer at all and it sounded like gunshots everytime it came on. My stove was old as dirt and always smelled like gas. I called, they said my stove was fine and left it at that. I called a week later and complaind that my knob was never fixed, when the guy came to fix it fire shot out of it. It had a gas leak, and someone tried to cover it up by gluing the knob so that pilot would not come on. They were going to leave me with a FAULTY GAS STOVE. people die in gas leaks! I am glad i was there to see the fire sprout out at him. That got me a new stove, but i can't help but to think if i was not here they would have left it. I would imagine that all of our neighbors have a horror story about this place. I do not want anymore. this place is going to hell and it's only a matter of time before it gets outta control. when you put together classless neighbors, bad management, roach & mice infestation and super structural issues you spell trouble. i am running for the hills.

I agree with everyone. Unless your next option is homelessness, don't come here. If you live here, have a plan. Know that it is temporary and what you need to do so that you do not end up in a place like this again! The first day I moved in I had to clean up mice droppings. And I just found dead roaches on clothes in my closet. Extermination is a joke, and the manager is nasty. i try not to call for anything. It is time for me to go too. They know you don't come here unless you pretty much have no where else to turn. That's why they treat the tenents so badly.
