If You Value Your Sanity, Don't Move Here!

Okay, its the 4th of February and it is currently 12 degrees outside, a wind chill of -5, and we have no heat or hot water! 5th time this year! Their heating system is over 40 years old and they have no plan to replace it despite the fact it is broken every few days. I keep my place very clean, (sanitizing countertops and mopping daily), and even still, Super sized roaches come for me at night. I hear the mice scattering through the walls-they don't come in here because I have a cat! Management is rude and uncaring. Maintainance, what maitainance' The emergency number is the number to someone's home answering machine and they never call back. This place is a health hazzard as the heat is not on long enough to warm your apartment and many times your hot water will only be warm. I have seen master bedrooms bigger than this apartment. Do not come here with your children, they will always be sick because of the many inadequacies in this place-black mold and no heat. I have been sick with a respitory and ear infection for 2 weeks, my apartment is freezing cold and I have no hot water. I cannot even nurse myself back to health because it is so cold in here. No heat in the bedroom and no door. I am calling the Department of Health on this place. If you want to keep a peace of mind and health, don't come here.

Wow. I wonder if the County visited yet! They don't even plow the sidewalks when it snows! You have to walk in the street. That is another failed responsibility of management! The heat barely comes on, hot water breaks whenever, (especially when it's really cold out) and big brown creatures take refuge in my apartment. Your right. This place will drive you insane! I can't wait to move. Be prompt with your rent! Make sure you pay your rent on or before it's due. These folks will give you a bad reference for one small mishap!

It's really a shame, because this complex used to be much better a few short years ago than it is today, mainly because of better management. One of the former managers, Tim McMasters, brought this place up from the dumps and really appeared to care about the well being of it's tenants. Renovations, frequent repairs when required, comfortably warm during the Winter months, regular pest extermination services, friendly attitude, etc. The Gardens has the potential to become a quality housing unit for low and middle income people, in fact it did include Section 8 units for people on welfare. Relatively quite neighborhood off of the mainstream, easy access to small businesses and public transportation, efficient floorplans. Goes to show what a greedy, uncaring slumlord can do to ruin a potential triving business. Maybe someday it will come full circle. |
