I live by the pool. In theory you need a pool pass to go to the pool - this is a lie. A bunch of trashy who live elsewhere have figured out that Jefferson on teh Creek is sponsoring a community pool for anyone with a car that wants to cool off for the day. Summer after summer people drive to Jefferson on the Creek from points unknown and park in any space at the pool and spend the WHOLE DAY here.
EVERY time I tell the office staff and ask for help, they tell me it is MY problem. The last time it occurred I was told, verbatim: "It's YOUR parking space, YOU need to go find out who is in your space and tell them to leave." When I DO try I encounter groups of lower class people who become angry at ME when I tell them to park elsewhere. Once in a while the riff-raff will become threatening & using foul language.
I TOTALLY understand why the office staff doesn't do anything to help tennants: these girls are scared of the riff-raf at Jefferson on the Creek, AND SO AM I!!!!! My neighbors no longer approach stranger at the pool, and neither do I. It's just not worth it.
When the summer season is over you will find similar, if not the same, individuals sitting in their cars in various parking spaces. Sometimes they get out and walk around - like towards the bushes and around the apartment. I thought they were csing the place. But my neighbors let me in on the 'secret' - this is drug activity. So the increase in police activity is no shock.
My neighbors have had their cars vandalized. One night, almost midnight, I was coming out of my apartment with my dog and I found 2 teens on bicycles next to my car. They were on either side of the vehicle looking into the windows. (I had skates in the back.) I no longer leave anything in my vehicle - EVER!
This place is trashy, expensive, and unsafe.
. ALL the good reviews are written office staff. This about it: the bad review are extremely detailed and long. The good reviews are 1 paragraph.
The $250 deposit is the real problem. It allowed me to move in at a moment's notice when I moved to the area for work. But I never thought about the fact that it allows ANYONE to move in at a moment's notice. Just pack in a bunch of people so they can afford the rent & the utility bill ...
My PECO bill over $100 a month!!!! That just doesn't make sense. A PECO service rep went over my bills with me & told me that in this apartment if I only ran the fridge (nothing else) the cost would be about $45/mo.
Plenty of reviewers suggest that you call the police or PECO. Give them the address & say you are thinking about moving here. Do it. Just do the research. Or come here & talk to the tennants.
I've been here 2 years, but my job is moving to a new office soon, and I will move to a new apartment. I dont care what it costs to break the lease. I'm just tired of feeling unsafe and ripped off.
Only one good note: the maintenance staff is nice.
