We raised our two children at Regency an loved having
the Regency as home. The Location is great, and any
issues that came up were solved in a timely manner.

I find this posting very interesting, as is so generic for being such a positive review, and does not include any examples to show how quickly the person's personal concerns were taken care of during the time they were there. Question, if they are so happy with the place, why did they post anonymously? Think about that. Though I accepted apartment in as is condition, having a large crack in the window would hardly fall under "as is" as that is a safety issue, yet, I had to wait a month to have a crack in one of the window panes replaced. I was also given considerable grief for asking about the lack of heat in the following morning when the early morning temperature during that week was in the 30's. I was actually told, "Do you expect me to have the heat on 24 hours a day?" FYI: in Philadelphia, it is a law that landlords provide heat 24 hours from around November till around March. Also after repeated calls, nothing was done about the major leaking (multiple times, the amount of water that leaked filled a 5 gallon bucket within 8 hours) in front of the balcony sliding door. This was an existing condition when I first moved in that I was told would be taken care of. From this leak, I had considerable mold on the ceiling all the way back to, and including the ceiling in the kitchen area. The wall section above the sliding window rotted out so badly, I could push a hole in it with my finger. Also, once a fork slipped down the sink, and got lodged in the disposal unit, I was told by management after a few jabs with a broom handle, that it could not be fixed and I would have to pay to replace the unit. Fortunately, a few days later the maintenance person had to reroute some plumbing from the dishwasher, and took a few moments to work on the disposal unit. Without too much effort, he was able to get the stuck object out. Speaking of the dishwasher, though it technically was operable, it barely even cleaned anything even with prior rinsing of the dishes. Although the new maintenance people that moved in the few months before I left did do a good job, and I was satisified with their performance, it can't overcome the negligance of the owner (management) for all the prior years, having one person for the whole building was too much for one person. And, when he is called to take care of repairs to the managementant's country club at a moment's notice, he is hardly able to attend to any backed up concerns that have not yet been addressed at the Regency apartments. I'll allow you to decide which gets the higher priority, the management's personal Country Club, or the tenant's needs at the Regency Apartments. So the choice is yours to accept the very generic comments this person and a scant few others have made, or the comments that both myself the majority who have voiced their opinions of the detailed grievances, and look elsewhere.

The only thing that is consistent at The Regency is the total lack of respect and disregard for the tenants. How can anyone say this is a good place to raise a family when there is barely any heat or hot water, ceilings and windows leak, mice and cockroaches are everywhere, violent crime e.g. stabbing and if you complain, your rent is raised. I would like to see the Civitella family spend one month in a 'as is apartment' and then see what they have to say. This is truly a Main Line slum!
