What turned me off was the lease. The 13 page document, written by a lawyer, weighed very heavily, more than any lease I have seen, in favor of the landlord. They promised a reasonable rent, however, if you did not pay the exact due date, they jacked the rent pu $50-75 and then added 5% more penalty. You were required to have apt. insurance ($300-500 a year), change heat filters every 3 monthes and do minor repairs. In the event that the leasee died, the cosigner was not allowed to sublet.
