I had a ground floor, one bedroom. The supposed den was actually an awkward support wall that subdivided the bedroom. The window , patio door, and wall insulation were all poor (had to supplant myself with a space heater in the winter) and the noise coming from my neighbor's apartment seemd constant (since there was no insulation in the walls between apartments, I could hear his dishes clink in the sink!). The common entry way hall was always noisy as well and could be heard inside the living room. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and get an apartment designed for people to asctually live in.
