Here is my experience with Halsted:


The office staff has two faces here: Before and after you sign the lease. They are wonderful to you until you sign the lease. Then everything is different. Only thing you get from them is the welcome packet with their partner businesses. If your skin color does NOT match theirs, they make your life miserable. That?s how I have been feeling. They don?t answer your requests, they enter your house without any notice, maintenance work takes days if you don?t keep calling them, in short, you are their slave unless you pay the big termination fee and leave. Make sure to talk to real renters, not to the office staff or the people office staff recommends. I wish someone had told me this before I moved in. One year is a long time if you don?t feel confortable where you live, but it is my mistake.
