First, let me start with the positive comments. The staff is nice and have not any issues with regards to repairs in my unit.

On the other hand, there are quite a few negatives to this complex. Do yourself a favor and rent an upper level unit if at all possible. Had the unfortunate chance of living below a family that does not seem to understand the term consideration. You can hear every creak in the floor when they stomp across the room and hear their conversations quite clearly.

If you are looking for peace and quite, I would not recommend this community. Lots of noise in the evening, children all over the place and people talking quite loudly outside in the parking area.

Even though the rent is quite reasonable, there are drawbacks. I would suggest looking elsewhere and to pay a bit more, but have a quiet environment to come home to in the evenings.

Would recommend this place for college students and families. But is you are a young, professional, working individual, I would suggest you stay away.

I have lived on both the top and bottom floors, a noisy neighbor is not the fault of the landlord. I have found Halstead not only a very classy resdential neighborhood but it is one of the cleanest and most professionally run places I have ever lived. I have enjoyed the staff here and they have go beyond the call of duty to assist me on many things, I hate to see a bad review of what to me is a first rate complex with a staff to match.

I agree with Katiejackson's response to this review. I also hate to see bad reviews of what I feel is a first rate complex. As I am moving out of Halstead in July (moving to St Louis) I will be using apartmentratings.com to find a new place. I appreciate it when reviews are accurate and I feel compelled to respond to this review because it is not an accurate representation of Halstead. I will truly miss living at Halstead. It has been such a great place to live and I believe it is an appropriate place for everyone. If you don't take my word for it, just read all of the other reviews for this complex and then you'll understand why it's recommendation percentile is in the eighties. Excellent quality apartments and townhomes coupled with a wonderful staff make Halstead a real find. If you are thinking of moving here, take it from someone who appreciates getting what they pay for; you won't be disappointed.
