I posted the last comment about not recommending Halstead. As promised, here I am to update you on the situation. About a day and a half after this incident, someone from the office staff left me a message on the voicemail explaining to me what the situation was with the loud music, etc. They also let me know that they read my post about Halstead and apologized to me for anyone being rude. They assured me that none of this should happen again. I remind you of the statement that was given to me by the office staff before I signed the lease about minimal noise... It has only been a couple days, but I haven't heard any loud music or maintenance staff shout/swear. I thank them for getting back to me in a timely manner after the post, explaining everything to me and I thank them for the apology. As long as the situation remains resolved and there are no further problems, then yes I recommend the place.

P.S.-Just after posting this review, I noticed my last one has been removed. Take my word for it, I was not a happy camper. I work night shift, so I sleep during the day. They DID break their word about Halstead being a quiet place during the day for my working/sleeping habits. Would have been helpful info before I signed the lease: Renovating was being done in the apartment next to mine and my bedroom for about a month, practically everyday after I first moved in! Maintanence staff swearing/shouting and loud music outside while renovating/fixing other places, over the course of maybe 2 months after the renovation completed next door. The music and crude maintanence staff were my main problem. Since I had to complain a few times, I felt my wishes didn't matter, for I am just a number on their lot... you know' I also had various complaints about minor issues with the construction, but nothing one can't live with. ...Just so you know what happened in my previous review to compare with this one.

As the Manager of Halstead, we sincerely appreciate your time to revise your posting, and bringing your complaint to our attention. Our residents are definately NOT just a number, and we do not take noise complaints lightly. In the last few months, we installed brand new cutting edge heating/central AC units in every townhouse and apartment. This was an enormous job which required cutting through brick, and extensive work both inside and outside of every room in every apartment/townhouse. There were a series of subcontractors required, and the actual construction was noisy by nature. The unpleasant language and music was obviously not necessary, and after being brought to our attention, were eliminated. The radios were actually taken away. This project which took about 6 months to complete should be finished this month, each building taking about a month start to finish. We understand and sympathize with this resident's need for quiet during the day, and do our best to accomodate those needs. Halstead is overall a very quiet community. We have no way of knowing which neighboring units may move out and need work, so it is impossible to guarantee total silence, however, any problem should be brought to the attention of the leasing office immediately so we can address and correct.
