I?m convinced DOGMA (the one who wrote the other review) has no idea what he is talking about. Perhaps he lives in another Jefferson at Westtown in West Chester, PA, but I highly doubt it. My fiancee and I just renewed our lease for a third year. And we?re very pleased with Jefferson at Westtown. Allow me to address his critizisms more directly:


1. He said staff was unattentive. I have found the exact opposite to true. Over the past several years, when we called over one issue or another, the staff has immediately responded in a courteous and professional manner. They have never been rude or unfriendly to either of us. The other reviewer said he had to pay for a mailbox key' I never paid for one.


2. He said maintenance staff is lazy. I lived in four apartments over the past eight years, and I have never had a more responsive maintenance staff. Similar to DOGMA, we had a problem with our garbage disposal, but our experience was totally different. We had a new disposal installed the very next day. The maintenance person cleaned up after himself and we couldn?t even tell he was there until we turn our disposal on and heard a quite new motor.

3. He said electricity and cable go out constantly. Ours has never gone out.


4. He said they never clean the actual apartment hallways. The apartment hallways are really open-air breezeways that normally do not get dirty. I have noticed their cleaning efforts in the breezeway on one occasion. As I past apartments, I commonly see trash left outside apartments, sometimes for long periods. Obviously, leaving trash outside your apartment will attract birds, insects and other unwelcome visitors. This leads to messy breezeways and what DOGMA refers to. Perhaps he should investigate why pidgeons are living there. Our breezeway is clean and has no bird poop.


5. DOGMA said management raises the rent whenever they wish. Our rent goes up $5 per month every year, that?s it. We have never received an unexpected increase in rent. There are penalities if you pay your rent late, like any other apartment complex. Was DOGMA delinquent on his rent'


6. DOGMA complains that there are no elevators to his apartment. I ask DOGMA, did you see elevators when you moved in' Do you expect them to install an elevator to your apartment because you broke your leg' What would you do in their shoes'


There is always room for improvement and Jefferson at Westtown is not the exception. But, they have always been reasonable and thoughtful during our entire stay here. I would highly recommend living here.
