Not a bad place to live
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 2/18/2009
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
I have been in the complex for two years and have noted teh following:
(1) Parking. Parking was initially a disaster as there were not adequate spaces when residents brought guests or for one bedrooms with multiple cars. While it was disappointing to lose the picnic area, the new parking lot has remedies this problem and there is now adequate parking for residents and guests. We have been advised the picnic tables and grills will be moved to the trail area so hopefully management will follow through with this.
(2) Noise. I do not have an issue with noise outside that to be expected from living in an apartment community. Overall, residents are considerate about noise and don't really make any outside of regualr hours.
(3) Grounds. The landscaping in the mulched areas by the lease office is very well maintained. Remulching, etc. is done seasonlly. The grass is mowed regularly. It is a new complex so outside of the old vegetatin by the trail there are not a lot of trees. There are new trees planted, but obviously it will take years for these to grow to full size.
(4) Safety. The community is very safe and well light. As a female I never feel unsafe in the complex.
(5) Construction. There are some maintenance issues. There have been some insalation issues with the third floor apartments but it is being addressed. I do agree that the carpet is not well laid and tends to pull up. The layout of my apartment is great and I do love the garden tub. I do wish they would have installed a thermostat where you could select a temperature rather than guess. The water temperature is low but you can request that they move it up.
(6) Maintenance. There has been a change in the maintenance staff and the previous head of maintenance was better than the current head. Make your requests in writing.
(7) Staff. There has been a huge turnover in staff since I have been here. While the leasing office staff is very nice, I don't find them to be overly competent. They don't return phone calls and are not super organized in regard to their own paperwork. I have found I need to make all of my requests in writing and follow up in person. You can get things done but you have to work at it.
(8) Overall, I am happy living here. I looked at all of the apartments in Chester County prior to moving. Trust me when I say there are a lot worse places to live. While there are some maintenance and staff issues, this community overall is clean, safe, and friendly. The pool area is great in the summer and the work out equipment is new.
