Nice Quiet Property--Out There. Not in Here. Noise Is Ridiculous.

Edited one word and date of review changed...date of review I think was 4/18/09.
Moved here to get away from loud music in cars and people arguing in the street (good theater, though).
This property is nice and quiet. But the moments of personal peace, peace in my apartment, are surprisingly few and far between. What's worse is I've begun spending those moments dreading when the stageshow above me will start.
I am about to break the lease I have had for...about a week. I have an upstairs "neighbor" who stomps around.
And there's some sort of machine that seemed to fire up and emit a loud hum for 15-20 minutes every hour or so. This only seems to happen when they're home so I'm thinking it's something they're doing. Washing machine' They are insanely loud. Right now I'm listening to a sound I've heard before--a leaky pipe dripping onto my ceiling.
The occasional drop or jump or fall is expected. More when they're moving-in or -out going on. But the freaking "Stomp" castmember above me is much too much to bear. I have to wait 6 months to try to move to a third floor here and I absolutely will not wait that long. I guess they'd rather lose a tenant completely than move one to a top floor.
Also the balcony flooring is just deck slats that are randomly spaced so anything spilled will end up below. Be careful myself...and hope for the same consideration from above. But that's a joke. They can't even walk like a normal human being or abide the "quiet hours"--10:00 pm - 8:00 am.
The tub creaks because of space between the actual tub and the "fitting" covering it. Accepted that. Not a major problem.
The thermostat does not kick in when it should. The temperature will be at a guesstimated 80 degrees (not digital!) while I have it set to 85. It should fire up but it doesn't. I have to set it to 90. Sounds high, but I have yet to break a sweat. Can deal with that.
The stress on my nerves of the humming and the stomping noises is what has become unbearable. I'm looking at a property in Glen Mills which will not only put me back closer to my family but also the area in which I usually function. If I can get a third floor with a comparable rent, I'm outta here.
I'm giving it a full month...but am prepared to give the 60 days notice to break the lease and pay whatever. I would LOVE for the person(s) above me to move out and be replaced by someone with consideration for others and the physical living situation that is "apartment living."

LOL... I live Oxford Gateway too, First floor. Let me tell you it will get no better, management sucks and noise from above tentants is probably the most annoying thing. But what do you expect living with 14 other units to one building. Also just an FYI, stick with the second floor unit, third floor apts have major problems with heating in winter months.

LOL, too. I wrote the above review. Speaking of the first floor, just to be certain the person above me is "special," I did ask the people BELOW me and they said they don't hear anything.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! The new management is even worse then the old maangement. They can't handle any issues without getting defensive. Too much money for very little.
