DO NOT CONSIDER LIVING HERE

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
After two years of paying way too much rent for an outdated 70's apartment, we finally escaped. The rent somehow managed to increase $200 in the 2 years we lived there. Not to mention they stopped paying heat and hot water and 950 for a 1br in such bad condition was simply too much, especially now you pay for the heat. The office told me the avg utility bill would be $40-50 a month but I asked my neighbors and they all said in the winter it was more like $150. It makes sense though because the windows are so old and drafty you can feel a breeze anywhere in your apartment during the winter. Don't let the landscaping (which is just ok btw) fool you, the buildings are horrible. Not only that but the police are constantly at the complex arresting someone for something, last time it was someone building bombs. We were evacuated for a day while the bomb squad cleared this guy's apartment. If it's not the unibomber its the drug dealers in any building. And drunk/high UTI students are always making noise. Nice to know who your neighbors are huh' Oh and the fire alarm goes off at least once a week and at all hours of the night. The leasing office staff is horrible too. They lost a package of mine and refused to help me at all. The value of the package was less than $20 and they signed for it. UPS said the office was liable since they signed for it, yet the office told me I was out of luck. So after paying 950/mo for a year and 810/mo the year before, they couldn't reimburse me for a $19.53 package THEY lost!' I was furious! And holy moly during the summer my apartment would reach temperatures of 98 degrees because the air conditioning units suck and they refuse to fix/replace them. Also we had a hole in our ceiling for 9 months from a leak from the roof. Somehow it took that long to patch the roof and fix the ceiling. Anyway here's seven oaks in a nutshell...over-priced, outdated, horrible staff, horrible maintenance, and don't get anything delivered to your apartment if you live there or you'll just be out the money you spent on it. Let's just say there are way better deals in the WC area. We actually moved to Waterview in West Chester and its newly reno'd and the rent ironically is $50 less and they pay utilities and the pool and weight room are included unlike seven oaks.
