I moved to the Lehigh Valley from North Jersey and was originally looking to move into Olympic Gardens, which is just down the road from Spring Ridge. Olympic Gardens have HUGE apartments, over 1,000 sqft for a 1BR and they are extremely cheap..under $700 for a 1BR. The outside of those apts look junky and ghetto and I just got a weird feeling from the place...as if the deal was a bit too good to be true. Later, I met someone that lived at Olympic Gardens and told me that I was right to avoid the place. As I left Olympic Gardens I went to Spring Ridge, which I hadn't known about and wasn't going to visit. I'm glad to stumbled upon the place and stopped by. The office staff was extremely polite and helpful. I believe the woman I spoke to was Anita and she was so much nicer than the people I spoke with at Olympic Gardens and Spring Ridge just seemed like a nicer and classier place to live.
A lot of people at Spring Ridge have dogs, but the apt complex doesn't seem junky like most apts that allow pets. I never see any "dog business" in the grass, which is nice. One strange thing that I noticed is how quiet the apartments here are. The walls must be insanely thick, but I never and I mean NEVER hear anyone else. Whenever I leave I sometimes hear a dog bark when I'm in the hallway or outside, but never when I'm inside my apt..it's like a vault here. Another nice thing about the apts is the location. I am extremely close to RT.22, MacArthur Rd. and the Lehigh Valley Mall. The apartments are fairly big...about 885sqft. for a 1BR. The balcony is nice and big. I'm enjoying having a directv dish because of it. The bedroom is average size, about 14x12 I'd guess, so nothing huge. There are several closets in the apt, but none are huge. There is free storage in the building, so I took advantage of that. Hot water is fantastic and never, ever seems to run out. The water pressure is also pretty high. There is a water/dryer combo in the apt, but it is kind of small and it takes the dryer a while to dry clothes. The hallways in the building smell kinda weird and have old looking carpet, so the hallways certainly aren't as nice looking as the apartments themselves are. Parking is fine. I've never had an issue with parking, never heard any loud noises at night, no crime or break-ins that I know of. I've always felt safe leaving my car here, etc. I've not had any problems, so I can't say how good maintenence is.
All in all, this is a great apt for the price. I moved here from a $1,500 a month apt in North Jersey that was nice, but I just felt like I was being ripped off. It wasn't worth that insane price. The apt here is a little smaller, but half the price, so quiet, and the office staff is so polite and professional. It is a very relaxed place and nobody bothers you at all. I would certainly recommend this complex to anyone.
