Great place to live!

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I've lived here for a few months so far and have no major complaints. The property is constantly maintained (inside and out), which is impressive. Move-in was made much easier with the use of clean and nicely sized freight elevators. I have a jr. 1 BR apartment here (without balcony) and it has much more space than I could ever fill. The jr. 1 BRs with balcony are slightly smaller. Each living area is nice and spacious, with one huge exception...the kitchen. This apartment style has a TINY kitchen. By far the worst part of the apartment is the kitchen. Here are some negatives for the jr. 1 BR kitchens: the oven is very small and without any conveniences (no clock/timer, not self-cleaning, etc...but it is a new oven), the refrigerator is small and doesn't seem to work right (freezer is kept ice cold but the refrigerator portion can only be kept cool...not cold and that seems to make the milk spoil faster), and there is no dishwasher!! Yes, you have to wash ALL the dishes by hand, which is a pain. Also, there are no washers & dryers in this apt. size, but there is a clean laundry room on every floor which has 2 new washers and 2 dryers ($1.50/load each which is somewhat expensive, they take quarters only). Mail is delivered by 11 AM each morning during the week, which is nice. The trash chute makes it easy to get rid of trash each time.
I have had no complaints with the staff here. They are all friendly and helpful. I had a very smooth move-in and expect the same moving out. I know what it's like to deal with terrible apartment management, and it was a huge relief to not get a headache trying to move in. If anything happens when the resident's life will be affected (such as hot water shut-off, trash chute repair, etc.), Susan will make sure that letters are delivered to each door AND posted in the elevators (again, impressive).
I am a student at PCO, and was hesitant at first with moving into a place that has many (yes, it's true) elderly residents. But, I find most of the residents to be very friendly, and I've gotten to know a few of them. That being said, if you're a loud partying type student, I would not recommend living here because it is usually very quiet and the residents will take note right away of any deviation from that. I'm not sure if Wyncote House even allows students from schools other than PCO and other professional schools. One thing to point out is that no pets of any kind are allowed here.
Parking is never really an issue, and the parking lot is brightly lit which allows you to feel safe. Cameras are set up at different locations throughout the property as well. There are 4 elevators, 2 passenger and 2 freight. Usually, all 4 elevators are working, which allows you to get where you need to be quickly. There are no apartments on the first floor, as they are all offices, including an internal medicine practice. Not that I make use of it, but there is a courtesy shuttle that takes residents to nearby shopping malls throughout the day. Rent is a little pricey, but it is comparable to other apartments in the area. But, it's nicer than the majority of places around here. JR. 1 BRs are very much in demand here, so if you are looking for one of those, you better get in contact with management early to put down a deposit on one. I highly recommend Wyncote House!
