You can get nickeled and dimed for everything. Read the lease word for word before you move in, and ask what happens after the lease expires. And you have to like dogs, there are a ton that bark all the time and no one cleans up after them. Thankfully I work odd hours and am not around often enough for it to matter. They keep dropping the rents for new tenants, so make sure to negotiate your rent when your lease is up or move - it worked for my friend whose rent went from being increased by $30 to REDUCED by $70 - that's how desperate they are. I'm moving due to work, but I don't think I'd stay anyway.

I just moved out as well and I must say I was sad to go. I do not believe they are "nickel and diming" anyone... cheapskate. I had to extend a few days beyond my lease end date for moving purposes and I paid a prorated amount of rent for that time. Which I would expect to do!!! DUH!!! Oh, I am and avid walker/runner and ONLY on one or two occassions did I ever see dog mess on the property. Maybe the dogs were only barking when you were around because you were so damn cranky. Independence Place was a wonderful place to live and the office staff is wonderful, I always got a polite hello and a smile from the young woman working the front desk. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a beautiful place to call home.

This place is killing me. You do get nicled and dimed for everytheing and the noise levels are atrocious. My neighbors are currently having a party and there is no room in my apartment that is not vibrating with the noise. I spoke to the neighbors politely asking them to turn down the music but tp no avail. I need to be up at 3:30am and its 1am now.
