They tried to prevent us from getting our new home!!!!

During our lease, a water main broke above our apartment and flooded our entire living room. We already had a small one bedroom and to have to move all of our furniture into areas that were dry, made it almost impossible to carry out our normal activities. In the mean time, they pulled up one section of the carpet, rolled it back, and put a blower under it. It blew up so much dust my husband almost had an asthma attack. They left it like that for a week and we had to tell them to come back because we couldn't stand living this way. They gave us a voucher to call and have someone clean the carpet. My husband and I both felt that it was their responsibility to see that this was done, not us. To make a long story short, they refused to let us out of our lease when we told them that we have serious mold problems starting and it got pretty ugly. We just recently bought a house and they wouldn't fill out the papers showing that we had lived their. They said they wouldn't give us our paper unless we gave them $600 dollars. This paper was basically held for ransom. Luckily we found another way around it thanks to people other than Cumberland Crossings. I would love to write the papers because this is not the only time a water main has broken, and many neighbors were upset with how they dealt with the situation. Please protect yourself and don't let this happen to you; DON'T MOVE IN HERE!!!!!!
