I totally agree with the previous poster. This complex is HORRIBLE! It is now under new ownership so the "memos" have finally ceased; however, other nightmare aspects of living here have worsened. I rated parking as 3 stars (adequate) only because there is usually adequate space (more than adequate now that people have started moving out). If I had taken snow removal into consideration it would have been 1 star. It's 4 p.m. and they are yet to plow the parking lot. I cannot get my car out to go to work. The waste removal company came this morning and got stuck trying to get out of the lot...that was approx. 8 a.m. and they still haven't plowed. I gave safety 1 star only because of the health hazards in this building (refusal to address the mice issue, other peoples' sewage in backing up into the kitchen sink) If I were to rate the safety of the neighborhood it would be 3 to 4 stars. This complex wasn't nearly so bad 2 years ago. Guardian Property Management (old ownership) brought it to its present low and The Mount Vernon Corporation (new ownership) has done little to rectify the situation. The only improvement I have noticed is the replacement of a couple of those unsafe decks. I'm not sure if they are not renewing any leases this year or if they have raised rent dramatically, but people are moving out left and right. I'm sure they plan to do major renovations once they get the current tennants out of here, but I still wouldn't recommend them as I think they're completely unscrupulous for letting things go on the way they are. (probably beacuse they know they'll be turning the apartments over) Rent is not cheap here. I think it's about $900-$1300/month. I'm not sure how much Mount Vernon plans on charging once they've renovated the place.
