still living here

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2009
I just wanted to add my thoughts since I see some reviews that are a little jaded. I have lived here for several years and have not experienced any vandalism what so ever. Maybe there is more to the story there... not sure.
The staff is very helpful. Each with their own personalities, but I feel I have always been treated pretty good. If I feel own is nicer than the other, then I seek out the nicer staffer. Pretty much the same thing anywhere. The office ALWAYS calls me prior to anyone entering my apartment. The even called to let me know that work was going to be performed on the exterior walls near my apartment. 90% of all maintenance requests were handled rather quickly. Not like some apartments when you have to wait weeks to get something fixed. King's Grant is pretty quick to respond.
They have recently refinished the kitchen with new cabinets, floor, countertops and splash walls. I have been renting for 20 years and never had anything remodeling while living there. Usually the next tenant was the one to benefit from such an update. The have also replaced my kitchen stove and Frig. (with new appliances, not used) The noise level varies with the type of tenants. Most in my building try to be respectful...but there is always 1 and this building is no exception. Price you pay when living in a multi unit building.
The common areas have all been updated with new carpet, paint etc. Fire doors have replaced the old apartment doors. (some buildings are still pending this update). All exterior buildings have received a facelift and vinyl siding. The grounds are kept clean all the time. You see maintenance every morning picking up butts and any litter on the grounds. The landscape is kept up year round.
The only downfalls here at King's Grant is the laundry facilities. 1 washer and 1 dryer to each building. Real pain.
Secondly to get your lease updated with a partner who does not have great credit is very difficult. You would think a lower income housing community would not be as stringent. My reason for leaving.
And Finally, the ability to get a provider other than Cox is a drag. They claim they do not allow any satellite dishes, but I know of one tenant who had one for a few years and still does to this day. Seems odd that it is out of their power to get the tenant to take it down. If they allowed it, then everyone should have the same opportunity of choice.
That's my review. Happy apartment hunting!
