At first, this apartment seemed like a dream come true. Close to the highway, a pool, a fitness center, spacious apartments, 24 hour concierge service, good closet space, etc. Unfortunately, until you actually live in a place, you don't realize all of the negatives, some only occurring in certain seasons. Problems with Regency Plaza: 1. Carpeted dining area that is too small. Who ever heard of carpet in the dining room''' We have a 2 year old and the carpet under his high chair that was WHITE is now more of a grayish brown. It can't even be called an actual dining room either. Basically all that fits is a table that seats 4 and 4 chairs, all cramped. 2. Washer and dryer in unit. Seems like a great thing, right' Well, the linen closet that is near it is where the dryer duct leads, and the whole closet is un-useable due to the fact it is coated in the lint that comes from the duct. 3. Cox cable. And ONLY Cox cable. If you want to watch tv, the only way is with Cox. Internal antennas' Nope. External antennas' Nope. Verizon FIOS' Nope. Satellite' Nope. 4. Parking. It is cramped and there are random concrete flower "pots" that people are constantly losing taillights to. (Myself included). It costs $50 a month per space and if you want the garage parking thats $100 per space per month. The actual lot is on an incline which is terrible to get up when there is snow. The lot isn't salted well, I've seen many people fall on it, and if you don't have 4 wheel or all wheel drive on your car, you will fishtail a lot. Also, bushes aren't trimmed and encroach on parking spaces and scratch your car. 5. Getting your packages. If you don't get a tracking number for your package, good luck knowing about it. "Concierge" isn't very good about letting you know if you have a package. Sometimes they might call, sometimes they might leave a notice in your mailbox, sometimes they will leave a note under your door, sometimes they might leave a note 2 weeks later, sometimes they will leave a note when you don't have a package, and sometimes you won't know at all. 6. The pool. Only open during the summer (its outside) and sometimes it will be closed for no reason. 7. Things break down. A lot. You can almost count on 1 elevator being broken at some point during the course of a day. If you use the stairs, they are like emergency stairs. Dark, dirty, concrete. Definitely don't go down them alone if you use them. Sometimes there are beer cans and cigarettes. Ew. 8. College students. Waaaay too many college students. 9. A/C and Heating vents. You can hear and smell things through them. wanna get high' Just go into your bathroom! Bored at 4 in the morning' Just listen to the sound of someone elses tv! 10. Fitness center. Very small room with 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, 1 eliptical, 4 dumbells, and a weight machine that can only do 4 exercises. 11. Garbage room. Chute is too small and if you're on a lower floor like 2, 3, 4, there is a chance the garbage might fill up so much you need to go up several floors to dispose of your trash. 12. We have phone jacks in every room. Only 3 of the jacks work, and no one will take responsibility for fixing it. Regency says its Verizon's job, Verizon says it's Cox's fault and Regency's job. 13. VERY expensive.
Good Things about Regency
1. Good closet space other than that linen closet. 2. Spacious overall other than the dining area. 3. Resident activities. 4. Convenience store at Regency. 5. A spa at Regency. 6. A hair salon at Regency.
Overall opinion: Not worth the money.
