Mixed bag

Our time at Winchester was a mixed bag... We moved here to make our morning commutes to providence more convenient. Getting to providence can take as little as 8 minutes, or as much as 50... There's a school right out front so traffic painfully backs up every single weekday morning.
As for the apartments, a good amount of space, but no closet space and construction is grossly inadequate. We could constantly hear our neighbors adjacent and below us. This got very frustrating very quickly... beyond the fact that the walls let in every outside noise, they also let in all the cold -- and let out all your heat. Our heating bill in the winter was over 400 dollars per month, routinely. Its simply not possible to keep these apartments adequately warm or cool. Plus, the electric water heater just didnt work for two people (wow) trying to take morning showers.
Parking is adequate, people here never seem to be able to park in their own spaces though.
Without a doubt, the staff at winchester is fantastic. We had nothing but pleasant experiences, all the staff is tremendously accommodating. The gym is OK, it can fill up but it certainly is convenient in the winter when other gyms are just too far away. The best part of the apartment itself was the deck. You get a fair amount of room, and can have a grill -- I bought a new one when we moved in but had to give it away because our new place does not permit grills.
Overall, then, I do not think I would recommend Winchester to everyone. Price is high, especially when you take into account the huge utilities costs. It was the noise that did it for us, making us feel as though we had zero privacy. This is more likely a place for college students who are not as sensitive and who might be more accustomed to dorm living... good luck!
