Well folks, I can't wait to move. I will give you some good things first. I never had problems with the heat or AC, it is close proximity to some good restaurants and bars, plus RT 84 is in your backyard, the grounds are nice during the day and the buildings are well taken care of. It has somewhat of a loft feel with the high ceilings. Also laundry is in almost every building and it is brand new.

The noise and the rats are just part of the cityit is something you have to deal with if you want to live in a big apartment complex. The gym, while a nice amenity is something you have to pay for and it very outdated and poorly ventilated.

Now the bad. I guess you could say there is security, but their job is mainly to tow cars and get kickbacks from the towing company. I had my car towed twice and broken into once. I called security and the police but neither helped. The neighborhood is dangerous. It is fine during the day, expect for the beggars and people digging through the trash, but at night there is an entirely different atmosphere. I am a rather average sized guy and I dont feel safe walking in the neighborhood. I would never let my girlfriend walk alone. If she were coming home late at night I would meet her at her car and walk her back.

Plus parking is the worst. There are never any spots on the streets. I agree with the person who said all the people that dont work stay in the same parking spots and the people who do work are stuck walking a mile to their car. Have guest is impossible and they risk getting ticketed or towed because it is hard to get a guest pass, and if you do they end up parking in another state.

The tenants: You have two choicesWelfare families or College Kids. The college kids I can handle, they arent that loud and they dont hangout outside and yell at each other like the welfare folks, plus they dont mind if you tell them to turn down their music. The welfare families are a different story. All hours of the day they are hanging out outside the front doors smoking cigarettes and yelling at their kids and neighbors. I have called in domestic abuse reports to 911 at least 5 times. One time a guy was beating up his wife outside and I had to go stop him. I thought I was going to get shot. Plus they have no respect for any other tenants.

Please dont move to a place that you will feel unsafe and live with the rejects of civilized society. Although they are nice building it is hard to find anything else good about the community. The law school area and West Hartford have plenty of affordable housing that is much safer and have better living conditions.
