It's like a nursing home here

I moved to Royal Crest from out of state so didn't get to see what I was moving into....I was assured numerous times over the phone that my new apartment was going to be "lovely". I signed the minimum lease I could and I am so glad I did. The grounds are nice which is the only good thing about the community. The apartments are unbelievably noisy, you can hear your neighbors talking, watching TV,walking around etc, we were going out of our minds. The community is full of elderly people who are deaf, that takes me back to the loud TV's......
I hated the shared hallways, stale cooking smells wafted into my apartment, I had at least 6 plug ins throughout the apartment. The laundry facilities are a joke, 12 apartments share 2 washers and dryers, they were filthy.
The "classic" apartments are awful, when we moved in I cried for 2 days, I was embarassed when my family saw them the first time, the bathrooms are like something from the 1920's and the kitchen is appalling, the apartments are so dark we had the lights on 24 hours a day. The best day of my life was the day I moved out.....avoid the place like the plague.
