BUGS BUGS BUGS

I lived in a BEAUTIFUL apartment at RC. I loved it when I first moved in. My husband and I moved in when I was about 7 months pregnant, and we thought it was the perdect place to bring a baby home to. Well, 3 months after I brought our baby home, i started noticing little red marks on the babies arms, and on mine. (the baby slept in a bassinette next to me) FINALLY, I did some searching all around my room and low and behold I found bedbugs. They where even in the babies bassinette. I was MORTIFIED and disgusted. I mean, come on, Ive lived in pretty crappy places before, but no bugs. This was an upscale apt. WTF. Well, maintenance lied and said that we where the only apt with them, which made me so embarrassed that i had bugs. That was complete bull though. I talked to some other tenants in my building about a month after I first found them, and there where TWO other apts with bugs. Now, July is when I found them, and even by NOV i still was finding them. We where sleeping in the living room, and the baby was in the crib with no bumpers, no curtains, no toys around, nothing in the room. We where living out of XXL ziplock bags and storage bins. I spent a couple hundred on laundry. The people at RC seemed so "caring" but when it came to getting this problem solved, they sat on their butts.
We threw away so much stuff, and I, as foolish as this may sound, had such bad aniexty attacks about going to sleep. I still have aniexty. We asked to be reimbursed for some of the things, like matresses, and laundry, but they said they would not help. So i threatened with the health department if they didnt let us out of our lease. Finally they gave.
We have been out of the hell hole for 5 months now and I still search the beds to make sure there are no bugs. I cant go through that again.
A couple other things, our toliet kept breaking, out windows (babies room and sliding door) ALWAYS leaked and they never fixed it, and there was a hole in the screen in the babies room window and hornets would come in and they didnt fix that either.
Never in my life would I EVER reccommend this place.

My Dad lives here, and he has been getting bitten on his leg in bed. I need to know if this is a constant problem over there. I don't even feel good about going into his apt. for fear of bringing them home with me. Please help.

It is really simple....This place like so many other around the US are owned by AIMCO. Their moto is literally to make the most money possible for our investors. The staff is trained to lie(Believe me I know first hand!) and if you got the cash you are welcomed with open arms. They would rather spend thousands of dollars on flowers and making the grounds look nice enough to attract new fools who dont know any better, than to spend it on the totally outdated apartments that they cover up rather than fix.
Bug situation...this place is and will always be infested. I have seen the files and know how long term this problem is. The exterminator has a weekly scheduleing time for Thursdays. EVERY WEEK!!!! I watched as bed bugs spread from one apartment to another then from building to building. Going to see this place for the first time? Be careful... the building where they show their "Model Home" is one of the bed bug buildings. Speaking of model apartment...take a closer look even in that one and you can find broken windows and horrible doors and frames. Enjoy the view from the balcony but dont look up! Gross!
Simply put if you want to give your money away and live in a tent on the grounds, go for it! Just dont sleep in the geese SH%*!
