Advanced warning - The Colony has no real intention of serving its residents or actually caring about their needs.
After living in my apartment for two years, my roomate moved out and I decided to stay on my own. They had no problems with me living solo, until lease resigning the lease came up. They found every reason not to meet with me and then declined my application, even though I make 4 times the amount of rent-owed. They were cruel and very unhelpful, and gave me only 1 month's notice to move-out. One month! One month before my renewal, they decided to cancel any future agreements.

Plus, good luck getting through on their phone lines. The two women who work in the office are usually on their cells and ignore the business line. Plus, the only manager in charge is usually at lunch or on vacation.

The pool (which was a huge influence on our decision) is gorgeous. So gorgeous, in fact, that children and teens from all neighboring areas will come to use the pool. Leaving behind many, um, items. The Colony refuses to place a lock pad on the door, citing discrimination law suits. Which to me, is a a nice way of saying, we don't care.

One last rant about the staff - don't trust to care for mail and other packages. When my college degree was sent, the Colony held the package for me, which was very clearly marked, "Fragile - do not bend." When I went to the office to pick it up, the woman at the desk simply pointed to a storage closet (naturally, ending her cell conversation came second to actually doing her job). So, I rummaged through the closet to find my degree shoved in a corner between an order from the Sharper Image and an old case of coke.

The point of all this rambling - stay away from The Colony. Not only is the neighborhood overpriced, but you are just a number, not a member of their community. I am very disappointed with the service I have received.
