At first, this place looks nice, but having lived here for a little while I've seen many things that did not please me. One of them has been this sumer. With the onset of strong winds, a bunch of trees fell, and since a lot of the trees are surrounding the parking areas, they fell on top of cars. Broke people's windshields, side mirrors, etc. The first tree that broke, it happened twice with the same tree within a week, but management waited another 2 weeks after that to finally cut the tree down even though it was visibly dry, and not alive. There is a lot of dog poop in the grass, as they do not really enforce their policy on that, and it's gotten to the point that you have to always look on the ground when you're walking in the grass. Our garbage disposal keeps breaking, and they are always blaming it on us, while we only use it for what it is meant for. I guess the best way to go is just not to use it at all. The shower water can't be cool during the summer, and in the winter time it becomes freezing cold in the middle of the shower even if you only take a five minute shower. They make you get the carpets professionally cleaned upon move out even though it is not required by the lease. Finally, the parking situation is horrible. They have all kids of rules and regulations in the lease agreement, but I guess they pick and choose which ones they actually follow, probably the ones that will make them the most money. The lease states that they will tow any vehicle with no "Oaks" decal that are not parked in the guest parking area, and while this may seem like too harsh of a punishment for the individuals that don't live here but that park around the building, when I am a rent-payer and I can't park near my building because some guest decided to park there for 2 weeks in a row, or someone is keeping a car that won't start in a spot, I get a little ticked off.
