Ashley Knoll is a very nice complex with a knowledgable and friendly staff. The grounds are well-kept and the buildings appear to be very new.
Most maintenance or other requests are tended to by the professional staff fairly quickly and in a timely manner. The location is great as the 2 main entrances will get you onto Hwy. 61 or 17 the main roads very quickly. The complex is also just minutes from the historic downtown district.

Now for the downside. the location of some of the surrounding areas may be a bit sketchy, but I have not seen any problems related to any of the surrounding residents, and I believe a courtesy officer lives here as I have seen a city patrol car parked here often.
The apartments are very spacious and have ample windows for lighting but at times it can seem drafty around the main window in the living area. Also, the porches are not screened in, which can be a problem in the hot summer when the mosquitoes and gnats are in full swing.
Another concern is the gym. It is very spacious for an apartment complex with 2 tvs and mirrored walls. However, the nautilis equipment is hooked into one huge machine in the middle which can be quite hard to figure out and manage for the novice. Also, the gym is not open 24 hours a day due to some vandalism I think. So, most people have to get in a workout after work and 9pm when the gym closes. The gym does have a key fob though and it would be nice to see some security cameras installed so the residents can use the gym at their leisure. This seems like a pretty simple and inexpensive cure.

At any rate, I would highly recommend Ashley Knoll for the quality,price,and level of service from the staff. The location and complex is nice and you will get a lot of bang for your buck.
