I have lived in Ashley Knoll for almost a year. I am moving out at the end of my lease to a place where you actually get what you pay for. I have lived in 2 different apartments in Ashley Knoll. The newer phase is definitely not great at all. The trash is a problem. On the weekends it piles up and looks/smells awful. The pools are both closed during the summer frequently for no real reason at all and getting a hold of anyone at the office to get them opened is a task. Kids who don't even live in the community come and use the pools and are loud and disruptive. (no one does anything about that.) The leasing office seems to have different employees every week.
Our current apartment has this problem with a pungent onion/garlic smell that permeates throughout the whole space and reeks of nasty leftovers for days. We think it's the air vent. Smoke detectors chirp regularly even after you call and have the battery changed. Comcast Cable is a whole other story.. if your "on demand" works at all you are lucky. There is not enough parking ever.. on the weekends you're lucky to even be able to see your apartment building from where you have to park your car if you get in after 9pm. People consistently park in fire lanes and never get towed or ticketed. The neighbor next door plays their rap music loud and often.. the thumping is a nightmare. The view in any direction leaves much to be desired.. On Sundays I love watching "the race" in the living room of our neighbor on the other side of the fence his backyard is equally as nasty. For the amount of $ we pay to live there.. I would expect a valet service or at least GATES to teh community that ACTUALLY WORK! (they havent worked in months)
Save your $ or your parents $ live somewhere else.
