When my husband & I were looking to relocate to Charleston, Ashley in the office was super friendly, and remembered us every time we called or popped by. We were thrilled to hear that the floor we wanted, layout and location on site were available when we wanted to move. Unfortunately, I don't think she works here anymore.

From the day that we actually moved in (having spent the whole previous day packing, then driving all night to get here, then unpacking, because there is no where to keep a moving truck), we felt like another face in the crowd. That special attention, that was a large factor in us selecting this apartment over another community was gone. We felt rushed in our walk through of the apartment, so much so that it was not until the next day that we realized the carpet in our unit was actually of a MUCH lower grade than that of what is shown in the models, blinds were bent, stains were on the carpet, and the unit hadn't even been thoroughly vacuumed since the last tenants left. The storage unit we had requested (since we were moving from a large house) was "not ready" (it turned out the large amount of office mis-communication led to it being available, just no one knew, or could tell us for over a week).

The gate has been broken more than it has been working, and like others have said, when it is working, it doesn't help much, since outsiders just make a u-turn to follow in someone who knows a key code. There wasn't even a gate for some time due to someone ramming through it. There was also a beating followed by gunshots one night here as well. Fortunately there are a few EMTs and an officer that live on site, but those are not the sort of things you bargain for when you live this far north of the "ghetto," and all the office would say to my husband was that they hadn't heard about it, and it could happen anywhere.

People don't pick up after their dogs. And contrary to what a previous post said, it's not solely "large" dog owners. There is plenty of small dog droppings left about, I even watch some of these people walk right past the Poopy Bag stations. Sometimes the stations go a few days without being refilled, and most recently one was refilled, but backwards, making the full box useless to anyone without the key to get in

Lights in our building hallways are often going out, and one light was dangling from its unit since we moved in. my husband took a chair from our apartment to get up to fix it himself. I understand taking a pride in your community and pitching in, but part of the reason some people rent is because they don't want home maintenance as part of their day. There are weather stripping gaps around our doors. If our apartment is dark, I can see the breezeway light through my front door crack. This attributes to our high electric bill, I am sure (we were told by the office that they could do nothing about the air vent in our bedroom not moving cold air...), as well as pests in the apartment. Despite the complex spraying the units, this has been the worst place I've lived for bugs inside.

We've been looking for a house, and it's gotten to the point where my husband is willing to settle for less than we've been looking for just to get out of here sooner. I've been looking into other apartments even though I hate the act of moving.

We were truly looking forward to living here before we moved. The apartments look nice from the outside, and the complex has a great layout. Don't be swayed by the clubhouse amenities unless you don't work and can take advantage of them during the day, since they are only available during office hours (aside from the gym and expensive laundry, with no change machine). The staff is great until you sign a lease, then you're just a rent check. This has been very frustrating for my husband and I, as we've lived price comparable places that have had much better service. We even signed our lease based on a special $100 off rate they had going, only to find that the current rate is only $30 more than we are paying.

The beating/shooting was near the woods & bridge that goes between the two ponds. The shots were fired into the air, not directly at someone.

I'm not sure where you heard about the beating/shooting, but unless you live in a totally different part of the complex, my husband and I never heard anything about anything like that... and we keep up with almost anything that goes on here. And yes, Ashley still works here (she was the one who showed us our stuff too) and she's only part time now... she took a position to forward her medical career... :)

Have you interacted with the new office staff? They are arrogant and have no clue on how to provide polite customer service,,, WHAT HAPPENED TO ASHLEY and the old crew,,, This place is going to hell quick,,, The class of people they are renting to should scare anyone away,, The gate is not going to help because they are your neighbor's.
