This entire area does not feel safe. The area is slowly going downhill. There are a lot of older homes going downhill, a trailer park and a general feel of junkiness. There are several brand new neighborhoods but I would never buy a home here. I was warned by a middle aged man while running in the morning that this area was not safe as he had been robbed when he was taking a morning walk. Our neighbor warned us about going to the Wal-mart down the road stating it wasn't safe, even in the daylight as there had been robbings in the daylight. My fiance and I noticed the negative reviews of all the apartments off Ontranto due to safety issues but decided to live here anyways. Now, my fiance and I are moving out of the area (to Dorchester Rd. area) as we broke our lease by getting a kitten (there is an age limit on pets-they must be at least 1 year old). I am glad we are moving. I would strongly suggest to look elsewhere even if you have to pay more. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk

I'm sorry you feel that way. I have lived in this area, and also in Deer Run, for many years and I have enjoyed it. Statistically apeaking crime does not discriminate and I was the victim of a robbery in Mount Pleasant just a year ago. I've lived here since 1999 and am getting ready to renew my lease for an additional year. The office staff are friendly, professional and have always taken care of the things I have reported.
