Good Home for the Price

I have lived here for about 10 months. I have had a great experience with the staff and maintenance. They are definitely a great part of the experience. Any time that I have had a legitimate emergency, they came out right away. Otherwise, they take care of any issues within 24 hrs. I live on the 2nd floor, so if the walls or floor are thin, I haven't been able to tell. The one time I had a serious noise complaint (I complained the third time my floor was moving due to the music and couldn't get the neighbor after 10 minutes of knocking) about my downstairs neighbor, it was taken care of and I haven't had any issues since (it is still the same neighbor). The carpet was brand new when I moved in. It was great, but my vacuum gave up after about 8 months of the piling. Guess bad does come with good.
The things I have had issues with:
1. Dog ****. There are plenty of dogs. People aren't always good about picking up after them. I don't walk in the grass if it is dark out and I can't see where I'm stepping. Playing frisbee or walking out the trash is a challenge since you have to watch out for it. The staff have been putting out warnings. I like that.
2. Flooding. Luckily, I live close to the front of the complex (building 18), but my little Honda almost stalled out twice on my way to my apartment when it was pouring one day. After parking in high ground, I had to take my shoes off and roll up my pants to get to my apartment. Gross considering the dog **** people don't pick up.
3. Screened Porch. Don't get me wrong, I love my screened porch now that I've sealed the bottom with spray foam and now that I've added a ceiling fan. Before, there was an opening in the bottom that bugs could get in through. What's the point of a screened porch if the bugs are going to get in'
4. Old appliances. I will preface this with the fact that my appliances do work fine. I was upset when I moved in, though, since the apartment I was shown had brand new appliances in it. I do wish I had a sprayer at my kitchen sink.
5. Work out center. I was told that they would update the workout center when I was moving in. I believe they have added one or two machines, but everything else is still broke. Sad.
All in all, even with the negatives, I would still recommend the complex. It is nice and the staff are wonderful. Regarding the workout center, there are two really good gyms nearby. This is a great place for delivery, there is a convenient gas station right next to the entrance and the Outback is right next door.
