Six years ago, my husband retired from USAF Charleston, SC. We moved into Mountain Brook Apts. We had our jeep broken into twice in less than 6 months. I observed extremely poor maintenance and management at that time. On Saturdays, when most employees were not at work, my husband and I observed appliances being taken from the storage building and loaded onto a UHAUL and taken off the property. There was a police officer that live back in the 3 br units that was totally unprofessional. On one occasion, I went to his apt to report an incident only to find him screaming at his wife and punching holes in the walls. Not every officer that lived there was that way. The one that did this knows who he is. We stayed past our lease 2 months. Our apt was clean as a pen when we left. We had movers come and pack and move us. We cleaned carpets and had fixed things ourselves because you couldn't ever find a maintenance man. There was so much paint on the air return when we moved there, my husband had to sand it to get the return open to change the air filter. Because the manager had been under investigation and I had been seen talking to the owner, she managed to turn in some false report about the condition of our apt. She turned it over to credit bureau even though we were issued a check for our deposit after an inspection. INCREDIBLE AND VINDICTIVE!!! The gas station in front of the apts was the only one on Ashley Phosphate that sold beer on Sunday. This created a multitude of problems for the tenants that were decent. I pray to God that I never have to live at Mountainbrook or any place like it ever again. I would not recommend this community to anyone. Remember, you get what you pay for!!! It is not worth your life. On at least 2 ocassions, you could hear bullets fly by and hit the bricks. People would move in, stay as long as they possibly could without paying rent and move out in the middle of the night ALL the time. The pool was never opened the entire 2 years we lived there and isn't big enough for a family much less an entire appartment community. We were NEVER late with our rent; however, we were targeted and have fought the credit thing till this day because some insecure girl thought we had reported her to management. The original owner sold the community and guess whose apt they showed the new buyers.....OURS!!!!!!!!!!! If our apt was so bad, why would they show it to a potential buyer'''' It amazes me how someone like the manager at Mountain Brook at the time could put the screws to decent, law abiding citizens! My husband's last assignment was Charleston AFB from which he retired after 26 yrs. Thanks for the hospitality Mountain Brook!!!!!

yes you are rigt and the manager diane is just no good at all she will come in you hous at night and also talk to you all kind of way so i am on my way out also
