The fact that plantation apartments is fairly close to downtown (3miles) has got to their heads. They have increased the rent for a deluxe (750SqFt) single bedroom apartment to $655 ($670 if you sign a 6 month lease - yes the rent is $15 extra per month for a 6month lease which they tell you at the last moment), which is ridiculous considering that other apartments are newer, better equiped and friendlier that charge way less than that.

The so called "gym" is smaller than a kitchen and the machines are old and dingy. I am not kidding when I say that the gym is extremely cramped. Plantation apartments has been in existence since the dawn of mankind itself, and the age shows. The buildings are old.

The landscape is maintained well, some of the office staff are friendly, it has a car wash area (although the water hose will not reach the car!) and the people living there are friendly and kind. The parking lot is not well lit, and the gas station across from the apartment has been robbed several times (which means that the criminals run into plantation apartments to hide :) )

Pets are allowed here, no problem with that. Although a blind eye is turned to owners who let their pets defecate on the lawn, without scooping the poopin! Nasty sight to see...

The laundry is old, and the service staff are friendly. The postman is very friendly! I guess that helps a bit. Overall... stay clear of the hefty price tag, there are better apartments elsewhere.
