Think twice before moving here!

Our 10 months at Plantation Oaks felt like 10 years because of a number of problems. First off, what other people have written about the amount of dogs is true- the barking is incessant. All times of the day and night, and there isn't too much that you can do about it. We paid to get the gate opener, and in the 10 months that we lived in this complex, the gates never worked (although now I have read that the gates are being taken down so I guess the gig is up). The buildings are in poor condition and rotting, there is always a building being worked on but never much progress being made. The screened in porches do nothing but grow moss and mildew and house a many variety of bugs. We were not able to fully enjoy our porch anyway- our first floor apartment did not provide much privacy and we were next to the "party pit"- a place where people gathered around a fire almost every night with drinks and loud conversation. We're not antisocial but sometimes its nice to sit on your porch with a drink and not be harassed by the neighbors. Also, a thing to consider- there is absolutely no natural light in these apartments. It seemed cozy at first but got kind of depressing. Parking is limited and you do end up parking far away from your apartment if you get home from work any later than 2pm. The pool was dirty all throughout the summer and the workout facility was in ruins (ceiling falling down, mirrors broken, and no functional equipment). Lastly, the staff seemed great until we signed the lease. After that, they did not want to be bothered and their attitudes were less than desirable. Hate to be harsh but this was a dismal place to live.

These issues have not changed. I live by the pit and have flooding issues. You also see alot of sand bags on porches and i one area they built a wall of sandbags and rocks to keep the area from flooding. All that did was flood the walkway.
