I lived in Westchase apartments for a year and 3 months. I reluctantly signed a new 7 month lease (If I went month to month they charge you 150.00 extra per month!)
While I was away my apartment had an attempted break in. Westchase has this policy of leaving notices on your door knob. This was a clear indicator to anyone walking by my apartment that I was not home. I spoke to management about it and advised them that I travel often and they advised that they would not leave them on my door. The next day there was one hanging on my door. At that point management took no responsibility.
There are constant harassing solicitors, neighbors who brag about their guns, and constant tuen around, so you don't ever know who your neighbor really is. I currently am moving aout- and have to pay 1000.00 termination fee plus 2 months rent, just to leave to feel safer. Management feels that this is not their problem. I suggest not renting from any property that is owned by Colonial properties. The management cares more about their rent then for the safety of their residents.
