We have lived here off and on for two of the last 3 years and have really enjoyed it. After scouring through most of Columbia to locate a place where I would feel safe leaving my wife and daughter during the day I happened on Ashland Commons and have never left. It is one apartment complex surrounded by a nice little neighborhood- great for walks- and one of the best elementary schools in the state up the street. As to the safety concerns voiced by the last writer, we have not heard nor experienced any problems and we have made friends with several tenants who would agree. The maintenance man is hands down the best I have ever seen and is very responsive. We asked to have our carpet cleaned and he had someone show up two days later after giving us notice. We are moving to Florida and actually spoke with the property manager to see if Ashland Commons' company had any sister apartments in the area we are moving. It is a good apartment for families. Although one negative is that the playground could be better.
